Error Messages & their Meaning #

Dashboard

1. Failed to Delete Chat
   • Encountered an error while attempting to delete a chat in the DocXter dashboard. Refresh the page and try deleting the chat again.
     
2. Failed to change the folder name
   • Facing an issue while trying to rename a folder in the dashboard?  Try renaming it again.

Account Page

1. Unable to update your profile. Try again later!
   • Got an error while attempting to update their profile information. Try updating the profile again after some time. If the problem persists, contact support for assistance.
     
2. Email Verification
   • Clicked on an expired email verification link or tried to verify an already verified account? Sign in to the account directly. If the account is not verified, request a new verification email and follow the instructions.
     
3. Reset Password Error
   • Did they get an error while trying to reset their password? Attempt the password reset process again, ensuring that the new password meets the required criteria.
     
4. Unable to send verification email
   • DocXter may have faced a problem while sending the verification email to the user’s registered email address. Check the entered email address for accuracy and try requesting the verification email again.

Teams

1. Something went wrong
   • A general error may have occurred while interacting with the Teams feature in DocXter. Refresh the page and try the action again. If the issue persists, contact support for further assistance.
     
2. Fail to send an email inviting team members
   • Encountered an error while attempting to send invitation emails to potential team members. Verify that the entered email addresses are correct and try sending the invitations again.

Extend Panel 

1. Error Saving Settings
   • Faced an issue while trying to save settings in the Extend Panel of DocXter. Refresh the page and attempt to save the settings again.

Common Issues & their Solve #

Upload Error

1. Failure to upload a document
   • Facing issues while uploading the document, such as an interrupted internet connection or an incorrect file format. Ensure a stable internet connection and verify that the document is in a supported format before attempting to upload again.
     
2. Document not supported
   • Tried to upload a document format that is not compatible with DocXter? Here’s the list of supported document formats and convert the file to a compatible format before uploading.
   • Supported document formats:
     • .DOCX
     • .PDF
     • .TXT
     • .PPT
     • .PPTX

Parsing Error

1. Error processing/parsing the document 
   • This is a very rare occurrence. It mostly has to do with the document type uploaded on DocXter. If you still find yourself with this error while analyzing and extracting information from the uploaded document. Try uploading the document again.
   • If the issue persists, contact the support team at support@docxter.app for further assistance.
     
2. max_workers must be greater than 0
   • The specific error is related to issues with file processing arising due to a combination of factors related to the way the uploaded file is structured and rendered.
   • Explanation: Document processing is complex since it may contain multiple layers of information, including text, graphics, and other multimedia elements. These elements are organized into a hierarchical structure called the “Content Stream,” which is essentially a set of instructions that describe how the content should be rendered on the page.
   • When the document processing encounters a file with an incompatible compression or encoding scheme, it may not be able to accurately interpret the Content Stream, leading to errors or incorrect results, such as reporting a total page count of 0. Additionally, certain files may contain non-standard or proprietary extensions or may have been generated or modified by software that introduces non-conforming elements or structures. These types of irregularities can further complicate the parsing process and lead to unexpected behavior or errors. The error “Max workers must be greater than 0” is about the same thing.
   • Next Steps: Typically this happens with converted files, files generated online, etc. To resolve this issue, you may need to investigate alternative document parsing libraries or tools that are better equipped to handle the specific document you are trying to upload. Alternatively, you could explore options for preprocessing or repairing the file before uploading to DocXter, or consider converting it to a more standard or compatible format.
   • Note: If this error was generated for a collection, try toggle opening the Collection to list all documents. Clicking on a single document inside a collection will initiate a conversation with that file. The file that was not processed or had errors will show up the error up front.

Interaction Error

At DocXter, we work to provide you with a seamless and efficient document intelligence experience. However, there may be instances where you encounter an “Interaction Error”.

When you interact with our advanced AI models, such as Claude-3-opus, Claude-2.1, Claude-2.0, GPT-4, and GPT-4 Turbo, these powerful models are tasked with processing complex computations and generating insightful responses.

Interaction errors serve a crucial purpose in preventing malicious actors from flooding the APIs with excessive requests, which could overload the system and cause service disruptions.

Furthermore, this ensures fair access to the APIs for all users. Without such measures in place, an excessive number of requests from a single user or organization could bog down the APIs, leading to slowdowns and performance issues for everyone else.

By implementing responsible throttling mechanisms, we can maintain a consistent and responsive experience for the largest number of users.

This temporary limitation is automatically imposed by Anthropic and OpenAI to maintain the overall stability and responsiveness of the system, ensuring that all users continue to enjoy a seamless document intelligence experience.
